The Bethel Community Transformation Center is seeking interested buyers to purchase all or some of its approximately 150 walnut wood pews. Handcrafted in 1922 with intricate detail, these gently curved pews were custom-designed for the building’s sanctuary by the architecture firm of the famous Albert Kahn. They served the community of Temple Beth El, Michigan’s oldest Jewish synagogue, for 50 years in a building recognized in the National Register of Historic Places.
All proceeds to benefit the Bethel Community Transformation Center, an interfaith community center that believes in the healing power of reconciliation to build community and unity of purpose between people of diverse races, religions, ages, and geographies.
